You can use these tools to highlight the important notes, make a small note or create borders between different points. Next, you have to be consistent. An unorganized color-coding can get really messy and sometimes it will be harder to understand. For example, you can use yellow color for definition and pink color for the main ideas. Each color signify different categories that help you to avoid confusion throughout your notes. Lastly, color-code your notes after initial note-taking. Color-code your notes while jotting down it will be counterproductive. This is because you may not focus through your lecture and overlooked some more important notes.
